1st Arrondissement Guide

Louvre: The Heart of Paris

Named for its most famous sight, the 1st is located at the center of Paris on the right bank of the Seine. This is the least populated of the arrondissements and home to Paris' most popular attractions, including the Louvre and Tuileries Gardens.

Getting there

Metro: There are a number of stations that take you to the center of the 1st. Chà¢telet/Les Halles is the largest and busiest.

Walking: Walking is the best way to see the 1st, especially around the eastern car-free end near Les Halles.
